Open-source licences
Tavi Player is built on open-source software. This page lists the main pieces; the complete, always-current list is inside the app at Settings → About → Open-source licences.
Video engine
Tavi plays video with libmpv, loaded as a separate shared library (libmpv.so on Android, libmpv-2.dll on Windows). mpv is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 or later. Source: github.com/mpv-player/mpv.
- Build used on Android: libmpv-android-video-build, tag v1.1.7, "default" flavour.
- Build used on Windows: libmpv-win32-video-build, release 2023-09-24.
- You may replace the library with your own build of the same version.
libmpv is built with FFmpeg (configured with --disable-gpl --enable-version3), licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3. Source: ffmpeg.org. This software uses code of FFmpeg licensed under the LGPLv3 and its source can be downloaded from the address above.

Film artwork on this website
The films shown in the demonstration screens on the home page — Neon Tide, Orbit, Afterburn, Breakwater, The Weight, Mile Zero, Saturn Falls, Ember Station, Crossing Lights, Kindling, Hollow Pines and Last Light — are not real. Their posters were made for this website to show what the app looks like with a library loaded. Tavi does not include these or any other films.
The photographs behind them are from Unsplash, used under the Unsplash Licence, by: Valentin Beauvais (Neon Tide), Alex Shuper (Orbit), Francisco Gonzalez (Afterburn), Jakob Owens (Breakwater), Farkas Mario (The Weight), Leximphoto (Mile Zero), Vadim Sadovski (Saturn Falls), Ouael Ben Salah (Ember Station), Andre Benz (Crossing Lights), Robbie Herrera (Kindling), muhamad kamaran (Hollow Pines) and Keagan Henman (Last Light). Title typography is set in Poppins and Lora (SIL Open Font License 1.1).
The TV series (Last Light, Night Shift, Paper Crown, Harbour Street, Kitchen Fire, Starfall, Westgate, The Allotment, Deep Field) are invented too.
